In the summertime, many people crave refreshing, fruit-based drinks. So, you should create a number of these types of drinks, and you should advertise them on your website, and on your menus. If people see a great sangria, mojito, or other fruity drink, on your website or blog, then it can definitely help motivate them to stop in at your restaurant. This is especially true when the weather is extra hot!

3. Book some great live music acts

The summer and outdoor concerts go hand-in-hand. So, if you can get a couple of solid local music acts to perform at your restaurant, then this can really help to draw in the crowds. To find the best acts in your area, you can do some research, contact booking agents, or even go to local open mics to find talent. If you advertise that you are looking for live music acts, then a number of good bands may even come to you.

4. Hire seasonal staff

For many restaurants, the summer is the busiest season by far. If you are anticipating an increase in demand for the summer, then you will most likely need to hire at least a few extra staff members. This means you may need more busboys, bar-backs, bartenders, servers, etc. So, you should take a good look at your staff and see where you could use some strengthening. Make sure you conduct the interviews and make the hires before the summer arrives.
